Client:
A leading Independent School in East Anglia, with a large city centre campus.
Challenge:
The COO wanted to ensure members of the school’s Senior Leadership Team were familiar with the school’s Critical Incident Plan and the challenges inherent under Martyn’s Law.
They approached AI Schools to deliver a cost-effective and focused, personal development training session.
Solution:
In a 2-hour training session, delivered via video conferencing, participants were exposed to:
-
Critical Incident Pathway & Taking Control - the role of a Critical Incident Management Team and the common mistakes made in the Golden Hour were considered. How a Critical Incident Management Team differs from an SLT was explored and the practicalities of getting coordinated activity underway and issues that prevent this were highlighted.
-
Lockdown / Shelter-In - key elements and procedures needed for an effective shelter-in procedure irrespective of size or layout of school were considered.
-
Tabletop Scenario - An evolving scenario was used to explore each of the four phases of a critical incident pathway, helping participants analyse what is needed in each phase and where gaps in Martyn’s Law requirements existed.
Result:
“Thank you very much for the exceptional session, it is rare these days to get a training session in which you are fully engaged for the entirety of the session wanting more, on this occasion it really was the case.”
COO, Independent School in Cambridge
