Martyn's Law Package for Schools
Martyn's Law comes into force in April 2027. This one-day package makes your school compliant with the standard tier requirements, built around a proportionate, workable plan rather than a paper exercise.
The new Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act sets out that every school must meet the “standard tier” requirements that are needed to prepare for a possible terrorist attack.

What is Martyn's Law and does it apply to my school?
Martyn's Law is the common name for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025. It applies to any school that can reasonably expect 200 or more people on site at the same time, whether that's during a normal school day or at larger events such as sports days and school plays. Most schools fall into the standard tier, which requires clear, proportionate procedures for evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication, along with notification to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) as the regulator.
